The Big Donor show in the in the Netherlands
June 4, 2007The Big Donor Show was a publicity stunt. Some even called it a strange Dutch joke.
Lisa, who pretended to be a terminally ill patient who would promise one of her kidneys to a person in an on-air game show, revealed Friday on the broadcast that she was an actress.
None of the three real kidney patients, who were portrayed as anxiously awaiting the game show results to see which one would receive a transplant, will receive a life-giving kidney.
The stunning turn of events contributed to the worldwide controversy stirred last week when BNN announced it would air a show in which a cancer patient would decide who of three kidney patients would receive her kidney.
At the end of the show aired Friday evening, presenter Patrick Lodiers told the viewers it had been a publicity stunt. Lisa was a 37-year-old actress named Leonie.

Monet’s Gardens and American Art Museum in Giverny
May 22, 2007Monet’s Gardens
2 weeks ago we decided to drive away from Paris to discover a place that everybody knows except us. This was the day we discovered “Monet’s gardens”.
These gardens are located 80 km West from Paris France in the village of Giverny. (See Google Earth link in the blue box)
Monet arrived in Giverny in 1883. He discovered the village whilst looking out of the train window. Monet was enthusiastic about the spot.
In 1890 he became the owner of the house and gardens and transformed them completely. He didn’t hesitate to divert a branch of the local river.
Here are some pictures taken during our visit:
The Musée d’Art Américain or American Art Museum
Over a century ago, a colony of American impressionist artists settled in Giverny near the house of Claude Monet. Following their footsteps, the Musée d’Art Américain of Giverny invites you to discover American art from 1750 to nowadays, with new exhibitions every year.
